I started listening to podcasts in September last year and am now addicted to listening particularly on the walk to and from work. I also love listening when I’m cleaning or on a long drive. Your brain is engaged, your hands are free. I still haven’t quite got the hang of listening while running.

Here are a few of my favourites – I will keep updating this post with more reccomendations.

I started this podcast from the beginning so had loooooads of episodes to catch up on. It is published weekly. I really want to see a live show. Funny, witty and empowering, it is a great first touch to the world of feminism. I love listening to so many funny and inspiring women who have achieved so much.

Another weekly podcast which is created by the fact-finders from QI and if you like QI, I think this is even better. Really funny, really quite interesting – each episode has 5 facts which are all weird and wonderful.

Serial is one of the most talked about podcasts and it is worth listening too! There are 2 series, and S Town is made by the same people. Serial series 1 is really great and centres round a murder. Series 2 isn’t as good and is all about a man who goes AWOL from the US army.

I love Jon Ronson, he is one of my favourite authors (The Psychopath Test, So You’ve been Publicly Shamed, Frank, The Men that Stare at Goats, he also wrote Okja the film on Netflix). This podcast is weird and wonderful and takes a look at the porn industry and it’s wider effects on society and individuals.

3 series (23 episodes) where each episode tells unusual and compelling human stories in order to explore different things such as emotions, fear, yoru future self etc. Unseeable forces control human behavior and shape our ideas, beliefs, and assumptions. Invisibilia—Latin for invisible things—fuses narrative storytelling with science that will make you see your own life differently.

Only 6 episodes but well worth it. If you like Serial then you’ll love this one. This is about the disappearance of a well-known fitness guru.
